Assesments of Approaches of The Doctors of Tekirdağ to the Euthanasia

Aim:

Assesments of the Doctors' opinions on euthanasia

Material and Methods:

The survey of medical doctors and dentists who accept to attend to the study opinions has been conducted between May-July 2013 at Tekirdag. Participation number is 410 and the outcomes evaluated statistically.

Results:

The age of the doctors who attended to the survey are between 23-63, average is 38,49±8,75. %64,6 of the doctors are male(n=265), %35,4 of the doctors are female(n=145). %52,7 of the doctors are general praticianer (n=216), %29,8 of the doctors are specialists(n=122), %17,5 of the doctors are dentists(n=72). % 29,8 of the doctors who attended to the survey say that the euthanasia should be executed. %31,7 of the doctors say otherwise. % 23,4 of them say that they want euthanasia for themselves while % 36,6 of the doctors say opposite. The ratio of the doctors who do not want the euthanasia for their relatives are % 49.

Conclusion:

As well as in the other countries, we can say that people’s thoughts in our country about the euthanasia are depend on their education level, belief, life style.
